Message from the President

I am truly humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and our local community as the 2015 Chamber president. Being involved with the Chamber for the past eight years, I have seen how important the Chamber is to our community and economic growth.

My primary goal for the coming year is to continue working with local business and community leaders to ensure our vision for our community continues is one that thinks broadly and sees clearly. Following in the steps of the past presidents, I want to continue the Chamber’s tradition of helping others in our community be successful. If we all work together, we can achieve more. For our members, we will strive to be your support, offering innovative and cooperative ways to advance your business.

I will be working with our executive board to ensure that we offer and expand our unique opportunities for local businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals to be engaged in our community in ways that benefit all of our citizens. My challenge to our members this year is to become even more active and engaged so that our community can continue to be one of the best places in Kentucky to live, work and raise a family.

We have built strong relationships with our community leaders in the past, and I plan to continue that tradition by forging partnerships with new leaders who took office in 2015.We want to expand our partnerships in ways that will make us an even more effective organization and more competitive community. For the coming year, I want the Chamber to continue being a purposeful advocate that pursues policies to make our city, county and region the place anyone coming to Kentucky would want to call their home.

We will continue to work diligently to boost our local workforce and develop future leaders through education, mentoring and new opportunities through the chamber. As a community, we must make a conscious effort to support local businesses and organizations by doing business together, embodying the spirit of thinking and spending local!Working together, we can integrate our business, non-profit, government and education partners, making our community a model others our size throughout the state. There have been so many successful partnerships in our community over the years, but we must build on that success by striving daily to improve the place we all call home.

I would like to wish all of our members and potential members, partners and our entire community a wonderful 2015, and thank you!

Scott Johnson, President
